What gives life to our Church, our work and our beliefs are the people of Plymouth. |
Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims, as a Congregational church, is a body of members who together make the decisions for our liturgy and our church-related activities. Our members play an essential part in spiritual and educational activities, and organize all social events and charitable programs. We come from many cultural and spiritual backgrounds, and from many different parts of the country and the world. We join together in nurturing and supporting our bonds with God, our community, and each other. The Plymouth Council and Committees are the organizational bodies of the Church. The Council, elected each year by church members, governs Plymouth Church. The four officers of the Council form the Executive Committee, while other Standing and Short-Term Committees address the full range of activities at our Church. Our Staff, led by the church's ministers, dedicates itself to bringing enthusiasm, expertise, and good spirit to our work with members, children, and the larger Brooklyn community. Church employees greet visitors, provide information, keep the administrative wheels of the church running, and maintain our extensive physical plant. Yet, the lifeblood of Plymouth is our membership. Through each volunteer's work as a committee member, school aide, community organizer, event leader, or - simply - a helping hand, we build our organization and strengthen our mission.
