Plymouth Choir
Music has always been an essential part of our lives at Plymouth. The Church's founding minister, Henry Ward Beecher, did much to revitalize congregational singing in Protestant worship, hiring a song leader, encouraging a great choir, and editing The Plymouth Collection, the world's first modern hymnal with music and lyrics together on the same page. With great joy and enthusiasm, we continue this tradition.

The Plymouth Choir is a volunteer organization, with a core of eight professional singers, and has been a Brooklyn institution for the past 75 years. Our founding statement continues to guide us: “Service to the Church, and the joy of singing great music to the glory of God.” The Plymouth Choir sings from mid-September through the first week in June and is central to the music ministry of Plymouth Church. We have performed over the years on both radio and television, and in concert with other church choirs.

We welcome new members, 16 and older, who can read music and are able to commit their time and talents to a regular Thursday evening rehearsal (7:00 to 8:30), and Sunday mornings beginning at 10:00. An informal audition is required of all new members.
