The Underground Thrift Store
Re-Opening September 11
Sundays 12:30 - 4:00 p.m.
The UNDERGROUND offers designer clothing (men's and women's), quality children's wear, fabulous shoes and accessories, plus high-end housewares.
It's all for a good cause, as 25% of the store's proceeds benefit organizations that fight modern-day slavery and human trafficking.
Our anti-slavery and human trafficking charity partner for 2015-16 is Restore NYC.
Restore’s mission is to end sex trafficking in New York and restore the well-being and independence of foreign national survivors.
As one of the primary nonprofits providing counseling and advocacy through the Human Trafficking Intervention Courts (HTIC), Restore finds victims of trafficking through their outreach strategies and partnerships with law enforcement, the court system, and community-based organizations.
They serve survivors with a holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally-sensitive approach. Their commitment is that these women experience greater independence and well-being.
Restore’s services include educating clients about their legal rights, trafficking, and community resources, a Safehome program, Outreach program and Economic Empowerment program. Learn more about Restore’s life changing programs at www.restorenyc.org.
Make a difference in people's lives with The Underground Thrift Store.
Raise funds for the church, support a great mission opportunity, and have a good time with other Plymouth members in the process. Help join the fight against human trafficking by becoming an Underground Thrift Store volunteer:
- Bring in your quality clothing donations.
- Sign up to serve on the Sunday sales crew, 12:30pm - 4pm. It's a lot of fun and a great way to meet other Plymouth members.
- Sign up to work with the Friday morning sorting crew -- 9am-noon every Friday (we also open the store to PCS families, church members and staff during this time)
- Sign up to be part of our Saturday volunteer crew so that we can open the store on Saturdays from 12:30pm-4pm.
