Vacation Bible Camp arrives at Plymouth the last week of August, offering kids a whole new experience: CAMP E.D.G.E. Encouraging campers to Experience and Discover God Everywhere (i.e. E.D.G.E.) this “extreme” program is not your typical stroll through the woods. The curriculum, described as a mix of “rockin' contemporary music, larger-than-life recreation games, mind-boggling science activities, and cool, challenging crafts,” is designed to offer kids some fun and relevant lessons about living on the E.D.G.E. in their faith.
Plymouth’s VBC, offered by the Ministry to Families and Children, is for kids age 2 through those entering 8th Grade. MFC Director Julia Rassmann has announced new programs this year, including special activities for older campers in 4th through 8th Grades. They will be split into two groups (Grades 4-6 and Grades 7-8) and participate in special trips that offer a spiritual, supportive and welcoming week of camp. At the other end of the age spectrum, VBC will also continue its Nearly Camp program for two-year-olds with a drop-off option, or accompanied by an adult. Camp Dates: Monday, August 24 - Friday, August 28. Location: The Plymouth Church campus, indoors and out. (Enter and depart through Beecher Garden, Orange Street between Hicks and Henry Streets) Schedule: Camp begins at 9:00 a.m. with varying dismissal times based on the camper’s age. Children ages 3 and 4 are dismissed at 12:00 noon. Children ages 5 and up will be dismissed at 2:45. The 2-year-old children of “Nearly Camp” will attend from 9:00 to 10:45. Camp Fee: The fee for VBC is $100 for the five-day session; for older camp groups, there will be additional fees to cover the cost of field trips.
