Are we awake to our lives? Are we reacting? Is life happening to us? As we begin this new year, Ellie Roscher will lead us in a spiritual check in. This retreat will carve out time for us to breathe mindfully, write reflectively, engage in small group story sharing circles, move our bodies, and strengthen community.
Friday, September 30
Dinner and Dialogue: Parenting Faithfully | 6:00-7:30 PM
This session is for parents of all ages
We look out at the world and see war, climate change, and pandemic. We look out at our country and see racism, transphobia, and school shootings. There are endless invitations every day to live in overwhelm and despair. Whether you are the parent of a 2-year-old or a 32-year-old, please join us as Ellie Roscher leads an accessible conversation on how to cultivate more faith, hope and love in our homes and lives. Participants will leave with some tangible and age-appropriate ideas on how to equip our families with a micro-spiritual practice that deepens are sense of the divine in and all around us.
Optional Twilight Yoga | 7:30-8:00 PM

Breakfast and Intentionality Session | 9:30 AM
This session is church-wide, for everyone from youth to senior adult to join
Fall is a perfect time for a spiritual check-in. Are we awake to our lives? Are we reacting? Is life happening to us? Ellie Roscher will facilitate a morning session around cultivating deeper intentionality in our days for all the seasons of our lives and span from philosophical to practical. The looming holiday season is full of invitations to overfill our lives, but maybe this year God is gently calling us to more presence, more magic, more rest, and more true holistic wellness. Participants can expect time to breathe mindfully, write reflectively, engage in small group story sharing circles, move our bodies, and strengthen community.
Lunch | 12 noon
Yin Yoga: Radical Rest | 1:00 PM
For all levels, including those who have never practiced yoga
Yin yoga replaces effort with the gift of time and invites us to slow down and care for ourselves. This class will invite in calm relaxation and deep stillness so we can hear what our bodies are communicating to us. Enjoy long holds that encourage muscle relaxation that leads to long term flexibility and peace of mind. Our joints can become rigid, and yin yoga brings supple strength, ease, and fluidity. All ages, abilities, and levels are welcome!
Sunday, October 2
Worship | 11:00 AM
Ellie will preach on radical sabbath rest and how God may be calling us all to redefine what MORE means this season. What do you need more of? What does the world need more of? The world will tell us we are more when we do more, when we buy more, when we consume more, yet maybe God is calling us to more love, more courage and more presence individually and as a community of faith.
Wellness in a Stressful World | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
For the Plymouth Youth Group
Wellness is not about eliminating stress, it is about knowing the tools we have in our bodies to manage stress and come back down after a moment of stress, anxiety, or excitement. Ellie will lead the youth in a wellness session, offering accessible tools to manage stress and soothe our bodies. The time will include breath work, emotional writing exercises, and light movement all working toward tending to our nervous systems and strengthening communication between the mind and body.
